The 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC

  • This was the first COP to officially acknowledge that fossil fuels are the root cause of climate change.

  • Over 100 countries agreed to triple renewable energy capacity and double the global rate of energy efficiency by 2030.
